A Goodwood Christmas

Once again we decided to have a Goodwood Christmas!
Only this time Mother came too!

Not only did we have a perfect Christmas at The Goodwood Hotel last year but Goodwood is one of Malcolm's favourite places too having visited the Festival of Speed on many occasions and we have had some lovely family days out at the Revival!  Consequently we thought it would be a great place to return to with Malcolm's mum who would be on her own for Christmas for the first time in 64 years, as sadly her husband died earlier in the year. :(
We knew what to expect, great service, fabulous food and wine and lovely surroundings so what better place to stay for a relaxing break after our hectic year!

It didn't disappoint!
The staff at The Goodwood Hotel were superb, extremely attentive and friendly, just as we remembered.

We actually arrived on 23rd December with an extra day to chill out, which was lovely as it gave us time to really relax and get a couple of treatments in at the Waterbeach!

But I will fast forward on to Christmas Day as I don't want to make you too envious! :) Christmas Day started with a Bucks Fizz at breakfast (well the sun was over the yardarm somewhere!)

Christmas lunch began with Prosecco which had a hibiscus flower in the bottom of the glass that had been soaked in raspberry juice - well, actually, it may have been some sort of
liquor? :) Whatever it was it was a little touch of luxury as far as I was concerned and, of course, mum in law had something even more intriguing to tell her friends!

And then, of course, there was the visit to 'the house' on Boxing Day!  Whether you have been before or not it is always worth another visit!
Oh goodness me....I could go on and on but if you want to know more why don't you book yourself in for a treat next Christmas!

Oh and did I forget to tell you.............we dined once more with the Duke and Duchess of Richmond's family!  I think I may well have name dropped last year - but just in case you weren't paying attention I thought I better mention it again! :)
