New Forest Photographer takes part in Swan Europeans in Cowes

The sailing half of our New Forest Photography partnership took part in the Swan European Regatta which took place in Cowes last week.  He was tactician and navigator on Cisne 317 and very proud to say the boat came second in their Class!

I went over for the last race with my son and his family and we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon on the green in Cowes!  I managed to catch a few shots of Cisne at the start and then as they came over the finish line at the Royal Yacht Squadron.

A quote from Sail World on day 5 of the racing:
"Class C also piled the pressure on as Stephen James’ Swan 38 Jacobite pushed the line considerably achieving a well timed start. Swan 43 Cisne joint owned by David Collins and Tony Thorpe also got caught up in the excitement of the start and were individually recalled. Once Class C had all started cleanly they set off to Gurnard Ledge, Quinnel, then Cowes Radio before finishing back at the Squadron Line. Despite Cisne’s return to the line they won the race with Alvine XV in second and Jacobite coming in third."
"Alvine XV won the second race securing their position at the top of the leader board. Alastair Evans owner of Alvine XV said, 'I’m over the moon, it’s been a brilliant regatta. One of the best I’ve done for a long time.' Cisne also had a fantastic second race coming in second taking second place overall in Class C."

Huge congratulations to the owners David and Tony and their crew!
