Drink cherry juice
The hormone melatonin controls the body's sleep cycle. Apparently levels can drop when we get stressed. Montmorency cherries have high levels of melatonin.
Lavender oil
Inhaling lavender essential oil is associated with lowering blood pressure while sleeping, according to a study in a US hospital.
Restless leg syndrome
Apparently if you try a warm bath and a leg rub before bed it can help with insomnia caused by restless leg syndrome.
Read
Pick up a book and read for a short while. Make sure it's not work related though!
Exercise
Yes we all know it's good for you. Make sure it's at the right time and in moderation.
20-30 minutes and the best time to exercise is between 4pm and 7pm.
Go on and write that list
Writing down your worries before bed may help, but write down how you may be able to solve them too.

Cognitive behavioural therapy. Try online programme Sleepio. It has helped 75% of people who find it hard to sleep, so you never know it could just be what you're looking for.
